Just above arts and crafts overlooking the river, the dance hall is a performance haven for our campers that love a cross between ballet, jazz and hip hop.
Special Programs
As the day winds down, campers can enjoy many different evening programs. There is a special night time activity every night and some of our favorites include:
Cabin Fun Night
On first night of each session, campers get to know one another by doing fun activities with their cabin mates. The most popular include shaving cream fights, tie dying, spa nights and – of course – S'MORES!
Sock War
One of the most popular nights here at Skyline, Sock War is a three way battle of capture the flag using sawdust-filled socks and loads of intense action!
Dance Night
Excitement reigns when the boys from Camp Laney and Lookout Mountain Camp for Boys come over for a dance in our gymnasium!
Banquet Night
"Oh, I can’t believe it is the last night of camp already!" We wrap up every session with a tradition that has been around since 1947. This special banquet recognizes our campers and the amazing job they have done in their activities. Trophies are awarded to the club winning the most points, as well as the Horseshow cup, and the coveted Eloise H. Temple Spirit Cup.
Each individual session has its very own theme, something unique to each one that we only do once a year.
1st Session: Miss Skyline Pageant
Gorgeous gowns and shining crowns used to be the tradition of the Miss Skyline Pageant. Now years down the road and many silly sessions later, the counselors compete to see how ridiculous and entertaining they can be. With a talent portion that includes the campers, the Miss Skyline Pageant is an annual event you don’t want to miss.
2nd Session: 4th of July
Happy Birthday America! What better way to celebrate the 4th than with a packed day of red, white, and blue extravaganza? Wake up to a day filled with fun, parades, a carnival, big inflatable jumpers, water slides, giant cakes, and awesome fireworks!
3rd Session: Christmas in July
Merry Christmas, Camp Skyline! Enjoy Santa Clause coming twice this year. During the Christmas session, campers can enjoy playing secret Santa, having a Christmas carnival on Christmas Eve, and getting presents on Christmas morning! 'Tis the season...for Christmas in July!
4th Session: Skyline Video Music Awards
It's time to roll out the red carpet and let the stars come to town! Campers get to create and star in their cabins very own music video.
