Are you a Camp Skyline Early Bird?

Camp Skyline’s Early Bird deadline is quickly approaching and we want to make sure YOU are an Early Bird!

What is an Early Bird?
Early Birds are special at Camp Skyline! All Early Birds will receive a unique Early Bird t-shirt and Early Bird patch. In the past Early Birds have had the treat to go on an out-of-camp trip. Considering the majority of Early Birds would rather stay at camp, we are improving the special treat to a pizza and pool party at Skyline’s new pool! This party will be just for Early Birds and will be during lunch during the first week of the session. That way everyone will get to enjoy being Early Birds without having to give up daytime activities!

Who is considered an Early Bird?
Everyone who is registered for camp by December 1, 2010 with a paid deposit of $300 is considered an Early Bird. The paid deposit of $300 is very important. If you pre-registered for Skyline but only paid the $30 deposit then you need to contact camp on or before December 1st to pay the additional $260 to be considered an Early Bird. Sign up today for new Skyliners or contact Rebekah at 1-800-448-9279 make a payment!

Need a Unique Christmas Gift?

If you are like me you struggle with coming up with unique Christmas gifts for family and friends. The same old gloves and scarf giftset or gift cards are nice gifts but they are not unique, and the proceeds from these purchases go straight back to the companies. Why not purchase gifts that are practical, unique, and help out a good cause!

The Skyline Foundation is currently selling 3 items that make great presents. All proceeds go to help girls come to camp who do not currently have the means to afford it. Please see the photo below of model Mark Pickle sporting his Skyline Style!

Pickle modeling Skyline's snuggie, cookbook, and grocery bag

The Skyline Snuggie the perfect gift for the child (or adult) who loves to cuddle up with a good book or movie. No knock offs here, this is an official Snuggie product in pink, printed with the Skyline logo. Adult sizes are $25 (ship) and includes a handy book light. Child sizes are $22 (ship) and come with cozy socks.

Need a great gift for Grandma or Aunt Sue? The Skyline Cookbook will solve that need. This is a compilation of over 200 recipes from Skyline friends and family. The Skyline cookbooks are $15 (+ship.)

Need a stocking stuffer or smaller gift for a friend? The Skyline grocery bag is a economically and earth-friendly present! At $3 (+ship) you can get one for every member of your family.

Consider giving an "alternative gift" this year in the spirit of Christmas. Make a donation to the Skyline Foundation in honor of someone you love. Remind your sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, niece, or cousin of her love for Skyline by making a donation in her name.

Contact or call 1-800-448-9279 to order Snuggies, cookbooks, and grocery bags. We accept checks and credit cards (visa and mastercard.) To make a donation please make checks payable to The Skyline Foundation P.O. Box 287 Mentone, AL 35984

Want to see your design on a camp T-Shirt?

Hi there talented and creative Skyline family! I’m sure most of you have visited our T-Shirt Corral once or twice and probably own several, maybe a drawer-full, of camp shirts. Last year we had some great designs submitted by campers, staff, and alumnae. Did you know your pre-registration shirt was designed by 3rd session camper Anne Peyton Sugg? We have seen so much hidden talent amoung you and want to give you the opportunity to shine! Ideas and designs are starting to develop for summer 2011 and we would love to see what you can dream up. You can submit your designs electronically via the camp email () or submit a hard copy by mail. Designs will have to be selected by March and we need ideas for general camp shirts, Early Bird, Pre-Registration, Equestrian Program, and of course Riverside! We look forward to seeing all the talent among our Skyline family!

Foundation Updates

We are so excited to let all of you know the Skyline Foundation has sent over 70 girls to camp to date!!! Thanks to all of you who have given. Out of these girls two have aged out of camp and have become counselors. What a testimony to all of you that have given these girls the chance of a lifetime. There is nothing better than to give the same camp experience you had as a child. Again, we thank you.

If you would like to donate, there are several ways that can happen. The Foundation is selling bricks (these are placed in front of the dining hall), a Skyline Cookbook (all recipes donated by camp friends and families), reusable and environmentally friendly grocery bags, snuggies and quilts. Please call camp at 1-800-448-9279 or email for more information. The second way is writing a check to the Skyline Foundation. We accept any donation you want to give and all donations this way are tax deductible. Please make your check out to Skyline Foundation. You may send your donations to:
