The Clubs
Eloise believed in healthy competition and gave Skyline two main clubs, Mounties and Rangers. In the early days of camp these clubs belonged to the oldest girls. The younger girls clubs were Kickapoos and Shawnees. If you were a Kickapoo, when you became older you were a Mountie and if you were a Shawnee, you became a Ranger. Each club has their own color, Mounties are red and Rangers are blue.
In 1964, a group of girls out of New Orleans, Louisiana decided to form their own club, the Troopers and they chose the color green. Today camp does not have the younger clubs, but you can see red, blue and green and hear Mountie, Ranger, and Trooper cheers ring all through camp.
Club Membership
At Skyline everyone is in a club, and once you join a club you are a Mountie, Ranger, or Trooper forever! There are two different ways to join a club. If your Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, or Cousin went to Skyline you may join the club that they were in! If you do not have a relative that went to Skyline, you will join a club on Opening Day.
With a great view of the river, the Lodge contains five cabins that sleep up to 14. With a commercial kitchen on the bottom floor, the Lodge is also where the cooking class meets.
