Hello parents, its me again, looks like y’all drew the short straw having to hear me go on and on and on about everything your girls did today. I bet ya do’t mind though do ya? After an exciting first day Sunday all the campers were eager to get to their first full day of activities and excitement and that’s exactly what we had. The day started off with a few clouds and some pretty cool temps. Just right for sleeping in an few extra hours if you ask me, but when your one of the only guys at an all girls camp, they don’t ask for your opinion very often. (there’s plenty of free advice on what my opinion is or should be though, quite often I get “voluntold”what Im about to be doing)

Anyway, after we all got up and had morning devotions it was time for breakfast and then back to clean up the cabins and make their beds before club meetings. All this happens before 9AM so when I say these girls have been busy today I mean it!! The morning was full of everyone experiencing their activities of ropes course, horseback, arts and crafts mountain biking and many more. I the 3rd activity, just before lunch it started to rain so all the campers went to their rainy day locations, places where each activity can go to continue as best as possible.

Now when I say it started to rain, that just ain’t doin’ it justice. It came a sure enough frog strangler and I mean it didn’t let up for about 20 minutes and that was too long cause it was starting to work into lunch time. As we were getting all the groups to the dining hall in a staggered fashion so no one would be waiting out side in the rain, I noticed there was a group of our mini campers at still in the tack room at horseback finishing up their ground lesson. I decided to help them out and drove our small bus right up to the tack room and picked up everyone of the campers and counselors and delivered them right to the dining hall so they wouldn’t have to make that long walk in the rain. Every single one of those little ladies thanked me as they got off the bus and ran the short distance through the dinning hall doors. I was feeling pretty good about helping the little darlings out so they wouldn’t get wet……until I walked into the dining hall and heard several other small campers talking about how their feet and shoes were all wet and they were having an (in their words) AN AWESOME DAY since they got to run in the rain!!! Who knew?!?!?!

Anyway, the rain stopped during lunch (I guess to some of their disappointments??) and the rest of the day was a perfect time with much cooler temps throughout the afternoon and right into the nighttime activities.

The cooler temps were perfect for tonights game of SOCK WAR which , if you’ve never played it think if it like a 3 way game of capture the flag with everyone yelling, running and throwing thousands of stuffed socks at each other. (Don’t worry moms, we got ya covered ob this, we supply all the socks they were throwing…..well, most of them, I think I saw a few of them with some of their own personal socks tucked away in case they needed an extra in the midst of a sock battle) Now if you get hit by a stuffed sock, you’re not out of the game, you just have to report back to the scorers table and then you can run back and help out your club again.

If you remember the clubs I told ya about last night then you know how competitive these girls are and they sure showed it tonight. They were running all over the pace throwing socks cheering and forming “charge lines” to attack other clubs. I was pretty impressed with all the organization they had to planning out their defense of their own territory while trying to take the flag of the other clubs. In the end there can only be one winner though and after all the hard fought sock throwing the final results were Rangers 3rd, Mounties 2nd and the terrific Troopers first!!! Way to go girls, great job tonight!! I know one thing I’m certain of, if I had done that much running and throwing of socks I’d need an extra dose of vitamin “I” before I went to bed and again tomorrow when I woke up!! (for those of you out there that aren’t familiar with Vitamin ‘I’….its Ibuprofen!!!

Tomorrow will be another full day of activities and this time it won’t take near as long to get started so their will be much more horse ridin’, zip linin’, swimmin’ and for the girls in my class they’ll be right back up and down the tower from the very beginning of class. No rocks though, they’ll be doing it all just on rope. They did great today so I know they’ll do even better tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, I’d better go ahead and head off to bed to my tomorrow will be here much sooner than I want it to be, yours will too if you’re one of those parents that likes to stay up and play along at home as soon as I get the blog out. You guys get some rest, your girls had an AWESOME day (especially those that didn’t get to ride the bus and got to run through the rain instead……)

Ya’ll have a great night and I’ll see yo tomorrow!!
