Recharge gets bigger and better every year! It is the most fun having the counselors come back to camp for a little reunion and fellowship! I remember the first counselor recharge weekend Skyline had, there were just a few of us and it was freezing in Mentone! It was so cool to see Camp in the winter, and all of my friends that I don’t get to see throughout the year! It is the perfect pick-me-up before spring semester starts.

This year we studied a book called Crazy Busy by Kevin Deyoung, hitting on a topic we all struggle with and how to manage it. The admin taught different chapters of the book and shared some of our favorite quotes from it that help point us to Jesus. We hope our staff reads through the book again on their own, as it was packed full of wisdom!

On the first night we had a Fort Payne local come lead a guided painting class. Artistic or not.. All of the girls had so much fun chatting and laughing. We painted a canoe, in true Skyline fashion, and everyone’s turned out beautifully!

Saturday morning we had a workout class with one of our own counselors’ amazing mother! This was new to recharge as well, and so fun! We listened to music, lifted some weights, and let’s just say no one was prepared for her athleticism. It is Tuesday and I am still limping..but maybe that’s just my queue to get into shape for camp season!

The cookie decorating competition may have been the highlight of the weekend. This is when everyone’s true artistic ability came out, along with some competitiveness. I have never seen such intricately detailed cookies made from the very few items we gave them. Saturday night we finished the weekend with a movie night at Sally’s house! Lots of good food was had, and we can’t wait to see our counselors again soon!
