We would love to introduce Saralee Amason, Riverside Head Counselor

I was a camper for 5 years and this will be my 5th summer as a counselor

I am so excited to be back with all my friends and campers, to canoe down the little river, to help out with circus and ropes, to meet new people and try new things, to be in a place where I can be encouraged and challenged in my faith, and to eat lots and lots of frios and rice crispies!!

The best part about being in Riverside is having campfires at night and playing fun games before lights out like Nertz!

The activity I enjoy the most is canoeing!! It’s a pretty chill class most of the time, but also you never know what might happen that day. You also get to know the people in your boat well!

If I could only sing one camp song it would most likely be daisey on my toe!

I don’t know if it’s my most memorable, but my first year as a counselor I was put into ropes. That was the first time I was ever in that class and I had never been off the V swing before. So one day I decided to go off and by the time I got ready to jump off I clung to the tree and started crying. I was there for probably around 10 minutes until the other counselor up there with me had to push me off. But I’m really glad she did because it was so fun!
