The leaves are starting to change and Camp Skyline is beginning to look a little different. I sure am enjoying the fall weather in the mornings and looking forward to cooler days to come. Mentone is always so beautiful this time of year. The Mentone Fall Colorfest is in two weeks! I love seeing the local stores decorate for the festival and the season. Fall just makes my heart happy!

We often get asked what goes on at Camp Skyline throughout the year or what we do when the campers aren’t here. Here are just a few things that go on at Skyline in the off season.

Camp hosts rental groups on the weekend and sometimes, even, during the week. Churches, schools, and other organizations have the opportunity to rent Camp’s facilities. Paige, our rental director, is in charge of helping these groups during their time here.

Traveling season has begun which means we’re (Sally, Gene, Laci, Saralee and I) are always on the road! We meet with new camp families and hang out with returning campers. We travel to many different cities so keep a look out, we might just be in your area and would love to see you. Who knows Pickle might even tag along for some shows!

Everyone always has that one favorite counselor. I bet you didn’t know we start finding those awesome girls now! While we’re on the road we meet women who will join our 2020 summer staff and love on your daughters this summer. We take hiring staff very seriously, we always have face to face interviews with our new applicants. We hire women who live Godly lives and serve as positive role models for our campers.

We, also, spend a lot of our time planning for the upcoming summer. I am currently working on creating new day programs. I’m hoping to bring back a few old activities (some fan favorites) and add brand new activities. These new day programs will allow our campers to have a greater variety of activities. Stay tuned for more information about new activities coming this summer to camp!

I hope everyone is enjoying the fall season as much as I am and we all hope to see you on the road soon!
