Hopefully by now, everyone has gotten their memory books in the mail!! We love making these keepsakes to reminisce on the summers and all the fun we had. We also love seeing the creativity that campers put in creating submissions for the memory book cover contest.

Every year we hold a contest for the best cover submission to be placed on the covers of the memory book. Submissions are usually at the end of October to the beginning of November every fall. It’s a big deal in the office the day that we sit around and pick the winners. Lots of deliberating goes on as we carefully judge every entry.

The two winners this year were Kirby Osborne and Megan Lee!

Kirby is one of our many campers from Tennessee and has been coming to camp for the past 5 summers. When asked why Kirby wanted to submit a picture she said because “I love camp so much!”

We love how Kirby incorporated all the clubs into her picture and even added the theme verse from this past summer! “Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her” Luke 1:45.

Megan Lee has come to camp since she was a tiny tot and aged out this past summer. When asked what the best part of her age out year was she told us “Choosing a favorite memory from camp is always so hard for me because there are so many!! I think my favorite memory from this summer was every night I would go to my LT cabin, Dewey’s Den, and I would get to hang out with all of the awesome girls!! These nights reminded me of the days when I was in Dewey’s Den, which really made me cherish my last year up on the mountain as a camper. My last year was so special and I absolutely couldn’t have imagined a better summer!”

I loved hearing what Megan had to say about her inspiration for her submission! “When I first was thinking about my design for the memory book, I wanted to create something that captured the most memorable things in my time at Camp Skyline. To me, going to camp has always been about having two weeks to get away from the busy life at home and spending that time with some of my favorite people. Camp life is simple, so I created a meaningful, simple picture that incorporated my favorite parts about camp and served as a constant reminder of home on the mountain!!”

We are all so grateful to be even just a small part of your campers’ lives and to be able share in those memory makings moments.

Below are a few of the other top contenders from this past summer. Thanks for all the submissions this year and we look forward to seeing what everyone creates for the covers of Summer 2020!
