Here at camp, our prayer is that your girls will know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and have a personal relationship with him. We hope that while your girls are here at Skyline that they will grow more and more in their knowledge of who God is and that their faith will grow because of that. As believers, we are commanded to “delight in the law of the Lord” and “meditate day and night” (Psalm 1:2).

We want to help your girls truly understand how important God’s word is in the bible and for them to understand how to read it and what it tells us.

A tool that Sarah Kate McLaughlin, the previous chaplain, introduced to camp and that the older girls at camp commonly use during morning watch is called SOAPS. This is a great resource to use to learn how to start actually studying God’s word. In the video above I explain how to use SOAPS and give an example of one. Below are pictures of the example I talk about and explanation in writing on the steps for referral.

For the observation, I commonly use Blue Letter Bible. It is a really great resource for any biblical reading. Here is also a link to the study bible that I personally use but there are so many great ones out there!

Don’t forget to share what the Lord is teaching you either by sending it to a friend, telling a younger sibling, or sharing it to social media and tagging camp!
