Recently I have been studying Ephesians in a weekly bible study I am apart of in Chattanooga among other women. I have whole heartedly loved this study so much so far. The word is so full of good things!

Ephesians is written by Paul who is writing to the church of Ephesus. Ephesus was a huge trade and commerce city during this time.

This book of the Bible is split into two learning parts. The first 3 chapters ask and answer the questions “Because of who God is, who does that make me?” or “What is our identity because of Christ?” The second part of Ephesians then asks and answers “How do I walk?” or “How do I live?”

While learning and studying this book of the bible, here are a few things that have stuck out to me.

Ephesians 1:4 “Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love.”

The truth from this is that he CHOSE us and we didn’t have to do anything for him to do that. We all have been on his mind a long time and should always remember God loves us.

Ephesians 1:10 “The fullness of the times that is the summing up all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth.” Mark 1:15 Jesus says “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

I know this is a big thing I struggle with in my life right now knowing that the timing for everything is not in my hands but is in the hands of God. He already has everything laid out for me. When studying this part of Ephesians it reminded me that I need to understand God’s timing is perfect whether I think so or not.

Take aways: We are blessed with every spiritual blessing, we are forgiven, we have an inheritance, we have been sealed in Him with the promise of the Holy Spirit, and we have security and value in our identity.

I highly recommend getting in the word more! Ephesians has been a really great study so far. If you’re looking for a book to dive into I definitely suggest it!
