We Miss Campers!
Summer 2023 was over way too fast…WE MISS CAMPERS!
As I walk around camp after having almost 1000 campers around all summer, it is soooo quiet. Even the Hydrangeas look sad. Lookout Mountain is just not the same.
There are no horses in the rings.
Riflery guns are locked away.
Arts and Crafts is empty.
We don’t even have an office anymore…kinda (But more information on that in a later blog!)
And don’t even get me started on the cabins.
Often we have rental groups such as school football teams, college team building groups and church affiliates. But there is something about seeing all your smiling faces day after day, running around camp, laughing and singing. It’s THE BEST! One of my favorite things at camp is when y’all are all dressed up in your club colors, cheering at the top of your lungs, and throwing socks at each other. Or painted from head to toe as a Mountie, Trooper or Ranger and competing in Speed Challenge.
My MOST favorite thing at camp is witnessing each camper get closer to God. Whether that is through Morning Watch, Campfire, Church or Bible Study, it never ceases to amaze me how God is working in your lives. At camp it’s cool to be a Christian!
We are looking forward to Summer 2024 and seeing each of you, campers AND counselors, back on the mountain!
