The girls woke up this morning buzzing with excitement, eager to start the day and perform later in the evening in our brand-new nighttime activity!

The girls started their day at morning watch by greeting Riverside with a cheerful “Good morning!” They then sang Love, River of Life, and Rock My Sword, My Shield. Afterward, Mary and Tally led a devotion on he anoints. Before heading to breakfast, the girls stood together proudly to pledge their allegiance to the flag. At breakfast, they enjoyed warm scones, fresh grapes, and crispy bacon.

In painting, the girls were given three primary colors along with white to show their artistic abilities. The girls had to create as many unique colors as possible, and then come up with camp inspired names for each one. The club that crafted the most and named them cleverly earned valuable points toward their club. It was a fun activity to spark creativity and teamwork all at once!

At the tower, the girls climbed the rock wall blindfolded, relying on teamwork and trust to reach the top. They put one of Camp Skyline’s Core 3 values into action by using the strong relationships they’ve built with each other to complete the challenge together.

In cooking, the older girls mastered making creamy brownie dip and cheesy rotel dip. They learned the technique of folding batter using a figure-eight motion to keep the brownie dip light and fluffy. They also discovered the perfect temperature and timing for cooking sausage to perfection. Meanwhile, the younger girls made delicious roll-up grilled cheese sandwiches by flattening the bread, sprinkling cheese on top, and rolling it tightly before cooking.

The girls woke up bright and early for a special adventure. They canoed down the river, passing Camp Laney, all the way to DeSoto Falls. Once they arrived, they enjoyed breakfast together at the stone picnic tables. Afterward, they descended the glass-stained stairs to the path leading to the breathtaking waterfall. The falls were flowing stronger than they had in years, making it an unforgettable and exciting sight for everyone.

Throughout the week, they had collected dollars to spend on this special outing. At the market, the girls picked out snacks and unique items that are special to Mentone, Alabama.
