Now that the girls are settled into their activities, the girls couldnt stop talking about how excited they were for the Skyline Laney dance!
The girls dressed and made their way to morning watch, led by Edmae. There, they learned about the Lord’s guidance through today’s verse: Psalm 23:3.”
After the flag raising, the girls headed to breakfast, where they enjoyed biscuits, cantaloupe.
During Outdoor Adventure today, the girls put their newfound knot-tying skills to the test! They’ve been mastering a variety of fishing knots! The girls went fishing and crafted their own homemade poles using sticks, hooks, and bread for bait. At the riverside, they used those very knots to securely attach their hooks!
Today’s mountain biking ride was a treat! The girls pedaled along Mentone’s scenic back roads, shifting gears up gentle inclines and speeding down the hills. Their goal was Brow Park, a lovely overlook on Lookout Mountain. Once there, they paused to catch their breath and enjoyed the stunning mountain view!
The girls had so much fun in horseback today playing a game called “Ships and Sailors!” They practiced steering their horses and getting into a two-point position. The game helped them learn balance and control while riding!
Today marked an exciting milestone for the girls in CSR!It was their very first out-of-camp trip, and they went to Mount Zion to put their skills to the test! After working all week to master gear, knots, and safety techniques, they finally got to rappel from two different cliff spots, experiencing both the thrill of descending rock faces and the beauty of Zion’s canyon landscape!
On the last day of archery and tennis, the girls received a fantastic surprise! The girls To top it off, Skyline revived a beloved tradition: the mini campers lined up for souvenir photos wearing an apple with an arrow through it on their heads! In Fun Swim today, the girls played their awesome game “Silent”! One girl stood with her back to the pool, acting as the “it.” The rest started quietly swimming toward the opposite side, trying not to be caught by a splash. It was fast-paced fun! This game encouraged the girls to swim both quickly and quietly, building their strength and speed in the water!
Today, the girls enjoyed a brand-new lunch menu featuring teriyaki chicken served with savory fried rice mixed with vegetables. For dessert, the girls emjoyed a delicious chocolate éclair, rounding out the meal with a sweet, creamy finish.
For dinner, the girls enjoyed ground beef nachos, topping them with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream. For dessert, they savored chewy oatmeal raisin cookies!
The girls had an amazing time at the dance! Reuniting with their brothers and making new friends from Camp Laney! The girls danced to Church Clap, Forrest Frank, along with other popular songs. The girls also grooved to Skyline favorites like Candy in the Sun, Cruisin for a Bruisin, and Away Together!
The mini campers worked hard all week on a special dance! The girls performed the dance for the entire camp! After their performance the girls went and watched Little Rascals in the dining hall!
