The girls woke up excited to start their first day of activities. They got ready quickly and smiled, ready for fun.
The girls started their day with the most important thing: morning devotion! At morning watch, Bevshack led three songs, followed by a short devotion over Psalms 23:1 and how the Lord is our shepard.
The girls headed to the flag-raising. Six Bevshack girls, dressed in white shirts and blue shorts, stood ready to raise the flag and honor the men and women who are serving or have served our country.
From there, the girls went to breakfast where they had buttery biscuits, eggs, and cantaloupe! There was also a bowl of fruit, a variety of cereal, and milk to go along with it.
In circus class, the girls learned how to do a penny drop. They crossed their arms like a mummy, tucked their knees, and fell backward into a flip!
In sports class, the girls learned how to play Gaga Ball! It’s a classic camp game played during Beli Deli and while waiting for dinner. The girls stood inside an octagon, and if the ball touched their legs, they were out. The last one standing wins!
In photography, the girls got to learn their cameras! They practiced using manual settings by adjusting the aperture, ISO, and shutter speed.
In mountain biking, the girls rode around camp today, getting comfortable on their bikes. They practiced important commands like stopping, turning, and signaling, which they will use on special trips outside of camp.
In tennis, the girls practiced their groundstrokes as their counselors dropped the ball. The girls scooped the ball like they were serving ice cream and finished the stroke over their shoulder.
In painting, the girls hand-painted name tags for their spots. Then, they enjoyed free painting while playing get-to-know-you games
For lunch today, the girls enjoyed a classic Southern meal: meatloaf, mac and cheese, fried okra, black-eyed peas, warm rolls, and cheesecake for dessert.
For dinner, the girls are keeping it simple with pizza, some fresh pineapple, and corn on the side. For dessert the girls had gooey sugar cookies!
For tonight’s nighttime activity, the girls had a club competition! They played Sock Wars, throwing socks at each other to get other clubs out while trying to collect a frisbee and flag!
Tonight’s winner lineup went like this: the Rangers took first place, followed by the Troopers, and then the Mounties came in third. Great effort all around!
