Our counselors are some of the best women we know and camp would not be possible without them!
When it comes to building our summer staff, we know that the heart of camp lies in the people who lead it. Counselors aren’t just here to help with activities — they’re role models, mentors, and faith-filled leaders who shape the entire camp experience. That’s why we’re intentional about choosing young women who not only have a love for camp, but also a deep commitment to serving God and others.
We are a Christian camp and all of our staff members are Christian women. Whether it’s leading morning watch, campfire, Sunday school, or cabin devotions - Skyline counselors set an example of what it means to be strong in one’s faith.
Faith is at the center of everything we do, and we look for staff who live that out. Our counselors should have a strong and growing relationship with Christ, and a willingness to share their faith in both big and small ways. They demonstrate consistent, unwavering faith and show their campers what it means to live for the Lord every day.
During orientation, counselors spend a portion of each day learning how to teach our summer theme to girls of all ages, ensuring everyone goes home knowing something more about Him.
We also seek leaders who care deeply about building relationships. Camp is all about community, and counselors are at the heart of that creating connections within cabins, helping girls form new friendships, and fostering a sense of belonging for every camper. The best staff members are approachable, compassionate, and ready to walk alongside campers through both laughter and challenges.
Of course, we value skills and training too. We look for young women who are responsible, hardworking, and eager to learn. Before campers arrive, our counselors spend a full week together on Skyline’s campus for orientation. This is a time of learning and preparation, but also of laughter and friendship.
They learn from childcare professionals and pastors, go through activity training, are CPR and first aid certified, practice emergency procedures, and more. All so they are prepared for anything the summer brings. Counselors worship together, laugh together, and build the bonds that carry them through the summer, so when campers arrive, they’re already a strong and unified team.
By the end of orientation, they are not only equipped but excited and ready to welcome your girls with open arms.
Most of all, we look for staff who understand and embody our mission: “Enriching young girls in God, relationships, and self.”
Each summer, our counselors bring this mission to life by helping girls grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and discover confidence in who they are. It takes dedication, joy, and a heart for service.
We are so grateful for the incredible young women who answer the call each summer. Whether they’re here for two weeks or ten, they make an impact on this camp and all of the people here.
