Themed / Dress-Up Nighttime Activities
These happen every session:
Talent Night:
Campers have the option to audition for our camp-wide talent show for a chance to perform in front of the entire camp. All campers—including mini campers—can audition, as this takes place during the first week of camp. Campers must have a routine or performance prepared before arriving, and they may wear any camp-appropriate costume they choose to bring!
The Dance:
All two-week campers have the option to attend our dance with Camp Laney. (Mini campers will watch a movie, and any campers who do not wish to attend the dance can join them.) This year’s theme is “Night at the Rodeo”—a fun western/cowboy theme, and we are so excited! Campers can wear whatever they like and can choose whether or not to dress up. If they do, we suggest cowboy hats, bandanas, jean shorts, boots, or anything similar you already have at home.
Movie Night:
Movie Night is a relaxed evening where everyone gets ready for bed before the activity and wears their favorite pajamas to the movie. (Mini campers will have already gone home:(
The rest of our nighttime activities are either club competitions or require no special outfit. For club competitions, campers go all out in their club colors with tutus, glitter, rhinestones, and lots of fun accessories. If you already know your club, be sure to bring everything you need! If not, parents can purchase one of our camper packages, which include adorable items in your camper’s club colors. These packages are distributed 1–2 days after campers find out their club.
Session Themes
Session themes are celebrated one day during the second week of each session (mini campers will have already gone home:(
1st Session: MUSIC FESTIVAL
This year’s music festival will have a country theme, so bring your boots, hats, bandanas, or anything else you have at home! Campers and counselors loved dressing up for last year’s first-ever Skyline Music Festival, and we can’t wait to see that excitement again.
2nd Session: COLOR WARS
For Color Wars, each camper will receive a white Camp Skyline t-shirt. They should wear shorts or clothing they don’t mind getting dirty!
3rd Session: 4TH OF JULY
Bring your most patriotic outfit! We’ll have a parade, Olympics, and a swim meet, so make sure your outfit is something you can comfortably move around in.
4th Session: CHRISTMAS IN JULY
Both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are celebrated at camp! Campers wear Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve for “Santa’s Workshop,” and again to breakfast the next morning. Bring whatever makes you feel festive—Santa hats, headbands, old elf costumes, or classic red and green!
Reminder: Please don’t bring your favorite clothing items to camp—they are very likely to get dirty!
