Hello Skyline parents!

Camp is in full swing on this lovely Friday! It’s the mini’s last full day of activities and they are having a blast, though we will miss them dearly. This morning was a bit cloudy, but that doesn’t stop the fun here at Camp Skyline!

First period archery was fired up! They played a game called Pig, where there were five groups of two partners. Each group plays against their partner and takes turns shooting three arrows, the first one to miss the target three times is out. They play until there are two people left, who then compete against each other for a winner. The girls were super excited to play and show off their skills, and they even got two bullseyes!

Photography went on a composition scavenger hunt! The girls searched around camp to find different compositions to use in their photos. They took pictures of buildings for symmetry, the fence for framing, and flowers for rules of thirds. They also took pictures of activities around camp, they went to tennis, archery, and even circus! They’ll definitely be bringing home some amazing pictures, and who knows, they may be working my job one day!

Our older bible study group has been reading a book called Crazy Busy by Kevin Deyoung. Today they talked about how time is not infinite and where their everyday priorities lay, and what they’ve been deeming most important in their life. They read Mark 1:35-39 along with it, a passage about how solitary prayer can be a focus in life. These deep discussions about their everyday life with Jesus that Sally leads really makes the girls think at the end of the day, and it really is beautiful to see the questions and discussions it leads to, even outside of bible study.

As I said earlier, it’s the mini’s last day. They spent their time doing all of their activities, including practicing for their performance at the Laney dance later tonight, as well as doing something really special in the barn, painting horses! They usually get to ride, but today they finger painted the horses, as well as played with their hair! Such a fun send off before they go home!

Tonight’s activity was our Camp Laney dance! Before the dance, the mini’s showed off what they’ve been working on all week in dance. They performed a group dance to “Lush Life” and they really wowed the audience right before heading to their own movie night! Once the Laney boys arrived, girls started finding their brothers, and also a few found some dance partners! At the end of the dance, everyone enjoyed participating in line dances to “Church Clap”, “Fishing in the Dark”, and “The Cupid Shuffle”, just to name a few!

Happy last day minis!

All the best,

Kaylee
