Dear Skyline Parents,
It has been another eventful day at Camp Skyline! The energy at camp so far has been amazing to witness, and I can’t wait to see more to come. Many girls expressed their excitement about starting the third day of activities, but even more were excited to showcase their talents later in the day during the talent show.
In first period I started by stopping by the fitness class right before they headed out on their run to Camp Laney. These girls put in the work in fitness (yesterday they completed 250 reps for America’s birthday). Then I made my way to the cooking classes where the older girls were making some delicious ham and cheese sliders and the younger girls were making tasty mini fruit pizzas. All the girls in cooking could not wait to get to eat their awesome snacks!
During second period, the sports class was surprised with water slide kick ball! The girls kicked the ball then slid on a water slide from base to base. Afterwards the girls loved the water so much that they spent the last ten minutes of class playing in it to cool off. Our sports head, Emma, held the hose over the girls like a sprinkler, then she let the girls play limbo under the hose too!! It was a perfect day for this because it had been very hot outside the last few days. Don’t worry though, every counselor has been doing a great job at making sure every camper stays hydrated and drinks plenty of water.
The rest of the afternoon was quite busy. After lunch and rest hour, the fourth period began. During fourth period I saw pickleball practice with water balloons instead of a pickleball! They are really loving this class. I also stopped by circus class and saw a few supermans (a circus trick where they fall backwards then fly into the air like superman)! After all the excitement of fourth , the campers got beli deli. At beli deli they are doing a fantastic job at helping campers pick a snack that will keep them hydrated so they can stay safe and still have fun in the heat.
It was an entertaining night! In tonight’s talent show there were performances from singers, dancers, impressionists, and even baton twirlers. For the 2,3,4 groups Emma Ellis got first, Katie Cagie got second, and Louisa Rotan got third! For the 5,6 groups Grace Snyder placed first, Lillian Newton placed second, and Bess Miller placed third! The girls can’t wait for their activities tomorrow and the night time activity Get Skyline Back. While you wait for tomorrow’s excitement check out today’s video!
With Love,
Sarah Ann
