Its CHRISTMAS DAY here at camp! We started our day off a little later than usual. All they had to do before leaving the cabin was brush their hair and teeth put their shoes on shoes and walk out the door. When they walked out they saw that it “snowed” all over. The entire camp had toilet paper thrown around for snow. In the gym we had a very special visitor come to camp. A ol jolly good fella as some would say. The girls were surprised to see santa and then each cabin got a picture with him so be sure to check out waldo. Once everyone got their picture they all sat in a circle around Santa while he read the Night Before Christmas. We had a classic sunday breakfast of Mrs.Donnas homemade donuts with sweet strawberries and bacon!
Today was trunk inspection! Some of the girls have kept their trunk clean all session long but lets be honest yall know your daughters better than anyone and the likeness of that is slim to none, so they spent a little extra time during cabin clean up on their trunks! When the cabin was all clean everyone headed to their different spots for sunday school! In Sunday school the girls went over how God’s rod and staff comforts us! Next up, Church! At church we had our very own encourager lead church. At church we learned that God uses even the lowest of us to glorify him. At that time in history shepherds were looked down upon. Not only was Jesus born in a manger, God also used the shepherds to go and spread the news that Jesus was born. When he did that, He showed us that everyone matters just as much as the other to Him. Even though the shepherds could’ve went and told the new for the rest of their lives they still had a job to do. They still went back to work, but with a different mindset! The same way your daughters are going to come back from camp the same kids, but with a new mindset about how God is their shepard and how he will lead and guide them through life!
Although we didnt have a classic sunday lunch we still had something very special! We had Christmas dinner for lunch. We had everything from turkey to stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans, and chocolate eclair! It is the day of rest, so the girls had a extra long rest hour! After rest hour we had carnival. At carnival the girls raced each other down the blow up obstacle course and let me tell you its harder than it looks. To cool off we had a giant inflatable waterslide open for the girls! Inside the gym there was a coloring station, hair tensil, karaoke, and facepainting. The girls got very creative with the face paint, I saw several girls with a smurf and shrek face. I joined in a game with volleyball where they were playing animal volleyball. Everytime you hit the ball you had to make a animal sound or you were out. To wrap up carnival we also got a little sweet treat and had froggys snowcones and fresh popcorn. The girls had picnic dinner and then headed to campfire! We had counselor hunt tonight! I had the pleasure of helping a few counselors hide. Bailey Bondi dug a tiny ditch and then we covered her with leaves and branches. P.S she didnt get found! When we were all done the girls went back to their cabins showered and got ready for bed!
