Hey, there parents! Its been a funky weather day here at camp. It kept acting like it was going to rain, but it held off! It also provided a nice cool breeze for some parts of the day! To start the day morning watch was led by the last cabin in hut row: Joywood. The counselors taught the girls how God can restore our souls! They learned that we have to go through the act of restoration and to be restored means to be in harmony with God! Once the flag was raised we headed to breakfast where we had blueberry muffins, bacon, and cantaloupe!
At club meeting each club decided their theme for get skyline back Mounties were cowgirls, Rangers were powerrangers, and Troopers were blackout. From there the girls headed to first period. Dance has had some special visitors come to class! Iyy, Mrs, Francis, April, and Emma are joining the dance they are choreographing for showtime next wednesday for the younger girls class. Even though volleyball isn’t my best skill I stopped by to hopefully learn some new skills. When I arrived the girls were practing their spikes and then played a scrimmage game afterword. I was on my way back to the office when I spotted sports playing shoot out on the basketball court! I stopped by and played a round with the girls and got to show off my basketball skills. In ropes some of the girls went to “the woods” as pickle likes to call it. In “the woods” the girls jumped off of the pamperpole many of them reached the trapease and swang a few time before coming back down to the ground. Bible study went over what they had learned yesterday before playing The Trust Game. The girls got together in partners and then lead each other, but the kicker was that one of them was “blind” so they had to listen to their partners voice. This taught the girls that the same way they trusted in there partners they have to trust and listen to God’s voice even in the loud times!
All day long the counselors have been telling the campers that their brothers or cousins were coming to take over camp. Once it came to flag lowering the girls shortley realized that it was just their counselors dressed up as laney boys. At dinner the counselors sang the counselor song and then three club sponsors ran through the dining hall with their club flags. Each club went to the dance hall where they gave off their cheers while the counselors were getting ready! At riverside field we had some massive take downs. The campers all were running around the field trying to chase down their counselors so that they could find their captain, flag, or box so that they could head to their next station. Once the game was over everyone gathered in the dance hall and announced the winners rangers first, mounties second, and troopers third! Once they were done they went to campfire and then bed to get a good nights rest to prepare for the BIG DANCE tomorrow!
