It is our final day at camp! Although we dont have any activities today, the morning routine stayed the same. We did get to sleep in a hour to make up for all the extra energy used during the last day of activities! We started our morning off with the bell ringing at 8a.m. The girls got ready and then headed off to morning watch where our very own chaplin Ella Walker led us in a morning devotion. Ella went over briefly what the girls have learned all session long! Then she told them that they are now the messengers! They have had this time to spend with God and they get to go and tell their friends all God has done for them and tell them how He is our shepherd! The girls went to their last flag rasing and then headed to breakfast. All session long we have waiting on camps special scones! Today was the day we finally got them! To go along with the scones we had oranges and bacon!
It was finally time for the Grandchampinship! We had four girls participate in the show. We even had a mystery rider join us! All of camp sat and watched as the girls rode around the ring being judged on their trot, post trot, and canter. After the grand championship the girls headed off to beli deli! We had a hour long beli deli today. Everyone got to spend extra time with each other talking about their favorite camp memories and enjoyed one last frio! Make sure to check out the instagram or tiktok to see if your camper made it in beli deli discussions to learn their favorite thing about the session. At club meeting each club went over their slow and fast song for banquet. After a busy morning it was time for lunch. On packing day we always have picnic! Today we had burgers with chips and brookies. We didnt have rest hour today after lunch instead we had county fair! At county fair everyone had many activities to go visit! These were not the typical activities that we have everyday at camp. The girls could play cornhole, make a junk journal, have a waterballon fight, climb tower, an there were many more! My favorite activity to watch was pie in the face! We had lots of shaving cream left over from cabin fun night, so the girls got the pleasure of making a shaving ceam pie and throwing it in a counselors face! Once county fair was over the girls had over two hours to pack up their trunks and get ready for banquet!
To start banquet off everyone went to the gym! At the gym everyone got their patches and learned if they got stitched to see if they might get lettered in their activity! We put a little break on patches and went to the dining hall for dinner. Every banquet we have chicken tenders, greenbeans, mashed potatoes, and rolls. For dessert we get a extra special treat, drumsticks! We all watched a slideshow with pictures and videos from all session long! After a short break everyone comes back to the dining hall and each counselor gets toasted! Even the admin got toasted this session by the headcounselors. Instead of a speech the heads gave a poem slash distrack and gave them all a special gift! Not only did the admin get toasted Larry got a special heartwarming toast from the girls in CSR! Each age group had a chance to win honor camper and we even had a pair of sisters win, so be sure to ask your camper tomorrow morning who won. Now onto the cups! We always do a big drumroll before saying who won, so if your at home reading this with your family or by yourself give a big drumroll because the troopers won the horseshow and point cup and the rangers won the spirit cup! It was then time for hugs and a few goodbyes for heading off to the river for vespers. At vespers each club sang their slow song, each cabin gave their cabin wish, and the age outs gave their speeches! To wrap it all up Sally gave the final campfire and everyone headed off to their cabins!
