Hello parents!!! The girls have settled into their morning routines! Here at camp the girls wake up at 7.a.m. Once they are dressed and ready they head to morning watch! The theme for the day was “He Calms.” After morning watche we have flag raising and breakfast! At breakfast this morning the girls had biscuits, peaches, grits, bacon and eggs.
The girls have really gotten involved in their activities! In tennis half of the girls were playing a tennis game and the others were playing pickleball! I even got to jump into a game of pickleball! The girls had fun while also being competitive with each other. At tower many of the girls reached the top! I made it to cooking at the end of class, so I didn’t get to watch them make their delicious creations, but I asked the girls to describe what they made. In the older class the girls made pretzels and described them as pretty, yummy, buttery, and crunchy but soft. The younger girls made pizzas and said they were fabulous, amazing, scrumptious, and cheesy. The girls in arts and crafts were learning how to sew bags! Once the bags were sewed together the girls put hand picked lavender and then continued stitching them shut! In swimming the girls practiced their jumps and then had a competition. CSR went on a special adventure! While every class goes to Pettyjohns cave this class did what no other class has done! The girls discovered a new passage that led them to a little creek within the cave and a swimming hole!
For lunch we had spaghetti with garlic bread, okra, corn, and for dessert apple cobbler with vanilla icecream. On this side of the river Joywood won cabin clean up on the other side riverside room 12 won for the second time in a row! Although there can only be one winner for each side of the river many other cabins got perfect tens. For dinner we had fajitas with rice and sugar cookies.
The girls had so many different talents to show off! One of the mini campers performed a gymnastics routine and then the entire crowd chanted her name and all gave her big “Os.” The winner of the talent show choreographed her own dance and also performed the dance! One girl performed a comedic elbow song and explained why everyone needs elbow space. We also had some very good gymnasts Lacey Rains and Mary Allen that did back handsprings, ariels, and many other tricks to the song fireworks! They also placed third overall! Ellie sang a song about snowmen and placed second!
